The 10 Highest-Earning Dead Celebrities — Who Made the List? (VIDEO)

In Hollywood, the dead get a lot more than just a few seconds on the “In Memoriam” roll of major awards shows. Sometimes they even keep making money from six feet under! AOL rounded up the top 10 highest earning dead celebrities and some of the results may surprise you. We know a few had us Wikipedia-ing up a storm.

First up, Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. The man behind The Cat in the Hat passed away more than 20 years ago, on September 24, 1991, but he’s still bringing home the bacon. His 2013 earnings were upwards of $9 million. That’s plenty of green...eggs and ham.

Also on the list world-famous scientist Albert Einstein (really) and pin-up model Bettie Page. Odd juxtaposition, we know, but both brains and beauty earned $10 million last year alone.

Many of the names aren’t exactly surprising considering lots of fame tends to equal lots of wealth, but there were a couple that caught us off guard. Any guesses as to who’s still making bank as a dead guy? Watch the video above and learn who takes the No. 1 spot and for how much. We apologize in advance for the slightly off-putting music.
