We’ll hear both sides of what happened in Hannah’s tapes

“I have heard from a number of people, ‘Well we heard all her tapes so her story is done,'” series creator Brian Yorkey explains to Entertainment Weekly

“That’s leaving aside the fact that for every tape there’s another person who has a story, which is the person Hannah mentions on her tape. We saw Hannah’s version of events unfold, but there’s a lot more to be told also about those characters.”

“Oh absolutely,” the showrunner confirms in the same interview.

”I think one of the things that is still hanging out there is this question of is someone responsible for Hannah’s death? Is the school responsible? Who is responsible, if anyone is?”

Jessica will have justice

“When people intimate that Jessica’s story is done, I find that a horrific thought because Jessica is just beginning the process of recovering from her rape, and we have a rapist who has not in any way been brought to justice.”

Brian promises Jessica’s story won’t end here.

“To leave those two things hanging out there in the world would be upsetting.”

“We’re going to answer all of the burning questions that people have about [the show]. Is Tyler going to do something? What’s going to happen to Alex? Will Bryce be brought to justice?”

Brian continues in the EW interview.

“We’re going to answer those questions but I think, even more, we’re going to continue to look very truthfully and very honestly at what they go through, even when it’s painful at times.”

We’ll have a new narrator

“Yeah, we’re definitely still weaving past and present. And there’s voiceover in every episode, but the voiceover is no longer Hannah. The voiceover and the stories that are being told bring us into the past and back to the present much in the way that Hannah’s voiceover did in Season 1,” the creator says.

“So there will still be that weaving of time frames and seeing them unfold and how they impact each other as they go.”

A different retro technology will drive the story this time

“The tapes are still obviously on people’s minds, but there is a different sort of analog technology that plays a hugely important role in Season 2,” Brian teases.

“So the cassette tapes aren’t at the center of it — those two boxes of tapes are still hanging around and matter to people — but there will be a new piece of technology for 13-year-olds to Google and try to understand what it was.”

Clay will finally heal

Dylan teased a surprising look at Clay's life post-Hannah.

"I think that that last shot of Season 1 was a glimpse at him maybe beginning to find some closure, whatever way that is," the actor told Us Weekly.

“I think it’s a long, long, long journey for him to find complete closure, and we’ll see that even in Season 2. But I think he’s beginning, he’s beginning."

Dylan did also hint at Clay losing his composure as the season goes on... but we'd like to think at least someone gets a happy ending on this show.

The series has added four more actors to Season 2 and their identities could be a clue as to which main characters will receive focus in the new season.

Jake Weber (Medium) and Brenda Strong (Supergirl) have signed on to play Bryce's parents, Deadline reports. Will Bryce finally pay for his crimes? Will his parents support or condemn their rapist son? Will we gain insight into this horrible character's upbringing? The possibilities are endless.

Meredith Monroe (Criminal Minds) will play Alex's mother. Will she help her son through his suicidal tendencies? Or we will follow the "hard-working nurse" as she grieves the loss of her son?

Lastly, R.J. Brown (The Carrie Diaries) will play fan favorite Tony's boxing trainer. Tony was a bit of a mystery throughout Season 1, so we can't wait to learn more about this enigmatic role.
