Big Brother 16 Spoilers: Who Won the Power of Veto?
The only good thing about being nominated for eviction on Big Brother is the chance that you’ll win the coveted Power of Veto and be able to save yourself. With all of the changes taking place in Season 16 of the CBS reality competition show, it’s more important than ever to ensure your safety — especially when you’re on the block.
For Big Brother 16, there are two Heads of Household each week, meaning there is a grand total of four nominees each week. After a new competition, the “Battle of the Block,” two of the nominees find themselves safe (having dethroned the HOH who nominated them) while the other two nominees remain on the block. Then, the remaining two nominees (along with the remaining HOH and three randomly-chosen houseguests) will compete in the POV competition.
Curious to find out who won the POV before it’s aired on TV? Check back here each week!
Frankie Grande and Caleb Reynolds won the HOH competitions this week. When it came to their nominations, Frankie singled out Victoria Rafaeli and Brittany Martinez while Caleb targeted Donny Thompson and Paola Shea. In the Battle of the Block competition, Victoria and Brittany squeaked out a victory, dethroning Frankie and saving themselves. As the entire house mounted against Donny, it was pretty clear that he would have to win the POV if he wanted to stick around another week — and that’s exactly what he did! That’s right, Donny Thompson is the first POV winner. After he took himself down, Caleb put up Joey Van Pelt as the replacement.
The first two HOHs of Week 2 were Amber Borzotra and Devin Shepherd. Devin nominated Brittany Martinez and Paola Shea. Amber nominated Hayden Voss and Nicole Franzel. Hayden and Nicole won the Battle of the Block, so Brittany and Paola were left as nominees, with Devin as official HOH. Donny Thompson was the POV competition host! The veto players were Devin, Brittany, Paola, Amber, Derrick Levasseur and Zach Rance. Devin won the POV. Right afterward, he said he wanted to secure the votes to either eliminate Brittany (which is what he hoped to do) or use the POV to take her down (as some Bomb Squad alliance members wanted).
