In a recent interview with Allure, Lea Michele dishes on her Spring Awakening sex scene, Rachel Berry (her character on Glee), and Rachel's alleged "man hands."
Allure: How do you play someone so narcissistic?
Lea: I think there's vulnerability mixed in with that self-confidence. There are only so many times you can be hit with a slushie before you start to cry.
Allure: Why is Rachel called "Man Hands?"
Lea: I don't know where the writers got that. I have the tiniest hands, and I always get manicures, and they're small and pretty.
Allure: What was it like performing that sex scene with Jonathan Groff in Spring Awakening?
Lea: I just thought I was alone with Jonathan. The scene wasn't that raunchy when I was 14. It was made more age-appropriate as I got older.
Allure: What did your family think?
Lea: They knew when to cover their eyes. When my dad would come, I would not expose myself that night. For. Sure.
As a side note, Lea wasn't the first young celeb to be seen in a piece from Louis Vuitton's 2010 Resort collection. Back in August 2009, Leighton Meester wore the same striped dress to the appropriately summer-themed Teen Choice Awards. Although we heart Lea, we have to hand Leighton this fashion win: the Gossip Girl star is wearing the beach-y frock to a summer event, not for the winter issue of a fashion mag, and she's wisely jettisoned the awkward rope-cum-belt. Also, we love her Cathy Waterman earrings!
