We should all turn 26 like this. Cheryl got more than that diamond necklace on her birthday. Not sure what she got from her family and other friends, but Chad got her no fewer than 10 gifts, including — as he tweeted — "Cheryls birthday gifts- Louboutin Spike Purse, Gucci Anaconda, louboutin BoBo and Let Me Tell You Something Shoes and a smile that's priceless on her special day." Too cute! He also loaded her trailer with balloons.
Cheryl said the best present was their high-scoring Quickstep last night. "He gave me a lot of great gifts today, but this was the best birthday gift ever. He really went out there, I feel for the first time, and had all the confidence in the world." What's the running tally on how much Chad has spent on Cheryl? What's the DWTS policy on accepting gifts? How will this be handled on tax day? That all remains to be seen.
It’s Erin’s birthday today!
There's another bull-headed Taurus in the DWTS family: Erin Andrews, who technically turns 32 today, although Maks was sweet in his happy b-day tweet to her. "HAPPY B-DAY TO YOU...HAPPY B-DAY TO YOU...HAPPY B(very high note)-DAY @ErinAndrewsESPN...HAPPY B-DAY TO YOU! You look too young to be 26 ;)" As Erin also tweeted today, "Thanks so much for the b'day wishes..got to DWTS today and @Maksim filled my trailer w/ amazing flowers..I love my Russian!!" She told ET that "My birthday wish is that I don't have to pack up and go home." We think you'll get your wish. Now our wish is for you and Maks to stop whining and stick to the dancing.
Maks & Erin's fight was fake
As Maks tweeted, "Thank you all for the support and the fight between @ErinAndrewsESPN and me was not real.... ;)" Well, duh. We knew it wasn't a real walk-out fight in the order of Tony & Kate, but we're tired of the show they are putting on. Why do we have to watch several minutes of Maks & Erin bickering when it's all just for the cameras? It was cute at first. Now you're just obsessed with the attention.
Maks is nominated for an award for Burn the Floor
By the way in the same tweet where Maks noted that he and Erin were just playing out their own faux soap opera, Maks included a link to the 2010 Fred & Adele Astaire Awards nominations, where he was included for his role in the Broadway production of Burn the Floor. "WOW! THIS IS AMAZING!" he wrote. The awards will be presented on Monday, June 7. Male dancer nominees include Come Fly Away's Charlie Neshyba-Hodges, Keith Roberts, and John Selya; Burn the Floor's Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and the Memphis male ensemble: Brad Bass, Kevin Covert, Bryan Fenkart, Rhett George, John Jellison, John Eric Parker, Jermaine R. Rembert, Ephraim Sykes, Cary Tedder, Daniel J Watts, Charlie Williams, James Brown III, and Tyron Jackson. Congrats, Maks! But what about Karina Smirnoff? Maks' ex was in Burn the Floor with him, but her name is not on the list of female nominees.
Nicole’s tribute to her aunt
Nicole dedicated her Week 7 Waltz to her aunt, who has Down syndrome. While a guest on “Reality Cares Radio Hour” with Todd Michael Krim on online’s LA’s Talk Radio, Nicole said she wants to be an advocate for people with Down syndrome. “I grew up with my aunt who is actually younger than me because my grandmother had her at an older age and she has Down syndrome. [She] has always had a special place in my heart and is such a wonderful addition to our family, so when Todd asked me if I was passionate about any charities or causes, I immediately thought of her,” Nicole said. “I want to bring awareness to how special people with Down syndrome [are]. I used to tell my girls in the Pussycat Dolls that I would have my own musical camp or school where I would teach people with special disabilities or Down syndrome."
