Gleek Off! Cover Contest: “Safety Dance”

It turns out the cast members of Glee aren't the only people who do amazing covers of the songs you love... or are completely sick of. (Seriously, can we all collectively decide Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" has been covered enough? Please?!) Each week, we'll choose our two favorite YouTube covers of a song performed that week on Glee, and let you decide which of the two is best! You'll be doing your part to make someone a star... while simultaneously crushing the other person's dreams! (You should be ashamed. How do you sleep at night?) And now... here are the two best covers we could find. It's time for you to rock the vote! Yes we can!

From "Dream On": Men Without Hats - Safety Dance

Time to get mellow! Somehow, this version from Janlg10 turns a silly, '80s dance-pop song into an affecting, contemplative folk-rock ballad, and it still works! Cat Stevens would be jealous!

We pick up the pace a little bit with this cover from benebrius. This version is performed by an Australian vocalist/guitarist who channels Jack Black just a bit. Okay, so the camera work isn't worthy of Truffaut or anything, but let's just try to ignore that there's a plank of wood sitting in front of the camera the entire time!
