Glee Costumes Go Gaga! Secrets from the Glee Costume Designer

If you're as excited as we are for the Lady Gaga episode of Glee airing tonight, then you're probably climbing up the walls. We can't wait for this thing!

One of the best parts will undoubtedly be the costumes, and that's no coincidence: The care spent on them is enough to make even Gaga herself sit up and take notice. Says Glee costume designer Lou Eyrich: "This episode is a tribute to her genius. The costumes are not replicas; we wanted it look like the kids made them." Awesome!

"Rachel (Lea Michele) wears two outfits. The first inspired by Gaga's Kermit the Frog dress: She goes through her stuffed animals at home and staples all of them to her dress. The second is like the dress Gaga wore with the big silver mirrored triangle."

And what about those shoes that Chris Colfer wears? Well, they're copies, but not for a lack of trying. "I’m a huge Alexander McQueen fan so I wanted to do them justice," Eyrich said. “We tried to buy them [for Chris Colfer], but we would have needed a woman’s size 13. They don’t make them that big." Oh Chris, you know what they say about guys with big feet... they need big platform heels!
