If words like, "meek," "milquetoast," or "mousy" don't seem to describe Kim Raver (Teddy), there is probably a reason for that. "There seems to be a theme running through the women I play," Raver tells USA Today. "They take their circumstances and try to make the best of them. Subconsciously maybe that's something I'm drawn to. I have an incredible role model in my mom. She was a single mother raising two kids in New York.”
Raver stays true to form in her new film, Bond of Silence, which airs August 23 on Lifetime. When her husband is murdered while quieting the neighborhood teenagers' party, and the kids and their parents refuse to divulge any details of the killing, Raver's character begins her own investigation. While Raver doesn't want to spoil the entire story, she says, "What she ends up doing in the end I thought was fascinating."
Of course, Raver didn't start out as tough stuff. Back when she was in pigtails, she and her sister Cybele spent three years living the childhood dream on Sesame Street. "For me, the amazing thing was entering into this amazing world of Sesame Street," Raver says. "We'd be in the kids' room, and there was a door into the soundstage that said '1-2-3 Open Sesame.' I remember pushing that door open and going into this incredible magical world of make-believe." Sounds exactly how we pictured it!
As for the upcoming season on Grey's, Raver seems to think Teddy will steer clear of Owen and Cristina's romance. "Teddy is definitely moving in the direction that maybe the triangle won't be as prominent," Raver spills. "It was a great device to get Teddy in there. It was really fun and exciting, and sparks were flying. But I think it will be really great to see her with a guy — hopefully but I'm not sure — that's not attached and explore that side of her." Not attached? Oh, Kim. You know things on Grey's are never that black and white. (BTW, can you introduce us to Grover?)
