Rock the Red Carpet: Our Emmy Dress Picks for Blake Lively
This Sunday evening, the ever-stylish Gossip Girl beauties may be flouncing down the red carpet at the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards. We have to say that while we can’t wait to see who wins what, we’re really looking forward to are the stylish looks the girls are bound to rock! We want to see it all — the good, the bad, and the Avant-Garde. Blake Lively (Serena) hasn’t let us down in the past, so we have have high expectations for her this year. We know just what we’ddress her in if we had the chance. (And be sure to take a look at our picks for Leighton Meester, too!)
It’s exciting to see Blake work the red carpet — she almost always goes for something bright and edgy. Whether she’s playing with peekaboo cutouts or thigh-skimming skirts, her looks are always memorable and conversation-worthy (and usually show off a lot of skin).
Remember her revealing red Versace dress at last year’s Emmys? She got a lot of attention for it (that plunging neckline!), so she may opt for something just a little more discrete this year. (Not likely, but hey, we’re playing make believe dress-up here!) We’d love to see her in this Rachel Gilbert number because it would allow her to flaunt that peekaboo look without going totally overboard. Wouldn’t this pale pink set off her golden skin tone beautifully?
While we do love Blake in long and elegant gowns, we really think she’d look fantastic in something that matches her fun-loving and carefree spirit. Hello, awesome Matthew Williamson dress! Come to mama! Blake would totally kill it in this number, and she’d likely land on the best-dressed list as well. But she must wear those shoes as well. (Want!)
However, if she isn't in the mood for bright colors this year, this metallic silver deep-v mini by Abed Mahfouz might do the trick. It pretty much screams “BLAKE!” Plus, wouldn’t it would be a sin for our leggy lady not to show off those mile-long gams?
