Sara Ramirez admits working on Grey’s Anatomy this season is much less stressful without the Katherine Heigl drama, in a carefully worded interview that never actually names the Grey’s alum turned big screen starlet. "I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally welcome the positivity and lightness this season brings," Ramirez says, quite neutrally. "I'm grateful for everyone who is at the show. It's nice to work with people who want to be at work." Of course, the Heigl drama swirled around whether or not she would stay on the show in light of her exploding movie career. She definitely wanted out while the producers were trying to figure out how to write her off the show, which apparently made for a tense set.
But, things have turned around, according to Ramirez. “This season feels really fun," she says. Oh, yeah. PTSD all around and miscarriages sound like a rockin’ good time. Of course, things look much better for Callie, now that she’s officially moving in with smokin’ hot girlfriend, Arizona.
In one final note of emphasis over Heigl’s departure, Ramirez says, “I'm really glad that this season it's just about showing up for work and continuing our best to do a show that will hopefully run for a long time." Well then! Don’t let the door hit you on your way out, Dr. Stevens.
