Nathan Fillion Launches Twitter Campaign to Play Nathan Drake

Should Castle star Nathan Fillion play treasure hunter Nathan Drake in the upcoming film? Nathan Fillion thinks so. He's aiding and abetting the Internet campaign to get himself cast in director David O'Russell's adaptation of the best-selling PlayStation 3 game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The games follow the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake, a descendant of Sir Francis Drake called "a modern and cynical Indiana Jones." According to, the original game sold 1 million copies in 10 weeks and its sequel sold 3.8 million units worldwide. The blogosphere is already abuzz from Geeks of Doom to Stale Popcorn, with posts and comments pushing Fillion for the role.

Fillion himself tweeted a link to the story, with the message "If ever there was a Twitter campaign, let this be it. Rise, ye Browncoats. Rise, ye Castillions. RISE!" He also re-tweeted this message from cinemaphile: "@NathanFillion Who must we frak to get you cast in the Drake's Fortune movie???" The answer is probably writer/director David O. Russell, but look sharp: He's a feisty one, famous for his, uh, disagreements with stars George Clooney during Three Kings and Lily Tomlin in I Heart Huckabees.
