Ali and Roberto ‘Waiting a Little Bit’ Before Getting Married
They've talked about getting married in the spring. They've talked about having a TV wedding. They've talked about eloping. And they've talked about how they're not really sure what they want to do. So it's not exactly shocking that Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky is now saying she and fiance Roberto Martinez are slowing down the wedding talk.
"We're waiting a little bit," Ali tells People at the MNG by Mango for JCPenney Launch in Manhattan Tuesday. "We really want to make sure we're doing this right." Can we blame this on Ali's horrible Halloween plans for Roberto? Apparently not. She says they are just as in love as they were back in Tahiti. "Nothing has changed — we're still just as happy as we were," she says. "When we were finished [with the show], we were so excited. We were like, 'Oh, we're going to get married right away.' But if you're rushing because you're in love, why rush? [Just] wait. You're going to get married any way. We're both sort of enjoying life."
When they do wed, the new San Diego residents will probably hold the nuptials "somewhere on the California coast." "We don't want to have to travel to our own wedding," she says. "We were thinking that maybe we'll want to get married, then go home for a couple days, relax and then go on our honeymoon. We just came off like a three-month-long honeymoon on The Bachelorette. We were just in Tahiti! We're tired of traveling like that." Yes, that kind of jet-setting lifestyle can be so draining.
