Don’t bet on it any time soon, shippers. Castle and Beckett will be spending a lot of time apart in the next several episodes, according to Nathan Fillion.
He says, "I think we're going to see a little more of Beckett on her own, with this new beau perhaps, and Castle on his own with his ex- wife, who's now, again, his girlfriend. They've been very good about exploring this will-they-or-won't-they relationship, and this year a new twist on it is that they are both in separate but viable relationships. And it's not, 'Oh my god, it's so obvious that person's so wrong for them, but real, honest, great people who are deserving of love and trust in these relationships.'"
What if the two did hook up down the line? Would it kill their chemistry and change the show too much, a la Moonlighting or Cheers? Stana Katic doesn’t think so. She says, “I don't mind if they get together. I think that they fit and fill each other's lives really well.”
Well, we may not be able to test that theory this season, but it’s fun to play "what if!”
