Bachelor Andy Baldwin Runs NYC Marathon to Fight Childhood Obesity
Sweet Navy doctor Andy Baldwin of The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman, is one of the many reality TV stars who ran Sunday's New York City Marathon for charity.
Andy ran as an ambassador for the ING Run For Something Better program, a charitable initiative that promotes youth fitness through school-based running programs across the country. "During the marathon, I'll be wearing a pair of ING's signature orange shoelaces as a symbol of my support," Andy wrote on ActiveGiving.com before the race. "Orange laces are given to those who make a donation of $10 or more, so please join me in the fight against childhood obesity and contribute today." Right now his fund-raising total is $2,760.00, but fans can click here to donate and add their congratulatory words.
"Finished the ING NYC Marathon today in 3:31!" Andy posted to his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon. "Thanks for all of your support. It was such a fun day. Exchanged pep talk at start line with rescued Chilean Miner Edision Pena, and then the guy gave me a big hug! He just finished in 5 hrs 40 min! Such an inspiration!"
Ryan Sutter of The Bachelorette Season 1 and Lorenzo Borghese of The Bachelor: Rome also ran the marathon to support their friend, Survivor: Africa winner Ethan Zohn. Trista Sutter tweeted that Ryan finished his race in 3 hours 20 minutes, which is 7 minutes better than last year's time. Way to go to all participants!
