It wasn't just Kurt who had never kissed before last night's episode of Glee. Coach Beiste had never known the pleasures of lip-on-lip contact either. Actress Dot-Marie Jones has been a major addition to the Glee cast this season she recently dished to EW how thrilled she was to be part of such a big episode.
"I was so excited. It’s such a heartbreaking episode and yet so rewarding," Jones told EW. "And how cute are those boys singing that Katy Perry song? I have it on my Facebook page. We watched the episode on the set. I was like, 'Oh my God, this is amazing.' Matt [Morrison] and I saw each other afterwards and he goes, 'Come here. Give me a kiss!'" Aww, just like on the show!
But was Jones offended that Coach Beiste was initially used as the butt of the New Directions' jokes? "You know what? I think that’s hilarious. It serves a purpose for the message. I wasn’t offended at all. I thought it was hysterical. Maybe it will make people think outside of the show."
As for Jones, she would love to show off her pipes on the show, but only if the perfect opportunity arises. "I like old-school rock. Heart is my favorite group. I would be too embarrassed to do their songs because I couldn’t do it justice. Ann Wilson is a goddess. I told Ryan [Murphy] something like AC/DC or Cher would be cool. I can sing both of them which is hysterical. [In Cher voice] 'If I could turn back time!' [But] only if I could sing it like Jack on Will & Grace."
