Frank talked to Halogen about Chi Omicron, which is set up as a fraternity for high schools, so students can unite against the causes of teenage depression and suicide. As it's explained on the official site, the Chi-O greek letters are XO, a.k.a. hugs and kisses. Frank's personal connection to teen bullying led him to create XO. According to Halogen, in 2008, Frank's longtime girlfriend had a 17-year-old cousin who committed suicide. "As he watched her family and friends cope with this tragedy, he wondered why a smart, beautiful girl with so much potential would see no hope for her own future. At her wake, fellow cheerleaders from her squad pinned seven large posters containing messages that her fellow-classmates had written about how well she was admired." Frank thought maybe sharing positive thoughts like that could save a person's life, and so Omicron was born.
XO's mission states it "will promote safer, friendlier high schools by creating a student fraternity centered on compassion and aimed at helping those in need." Students can create their own XO chapters, with Frank's help. As the site states, "Contact Chi Omicron! We will work with your school’s administration to get the wheels in motion for your very own Chi Omicron chapter..."
Interested parties can also apply to join the Chi Omicron Board of Directors. "If you possess a distinctive expertise that can help propagate our message to schools throughout the country, you will be an invaluable asset to the Board. We want to hear your proposal."
