Tonight’s guest judge is Franca Sozzani, who just happens to be the editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, a post she’s held since 1988. She also has long, wavy blonde hair, a Twitter account, and several books to her name, including Valentino’s Red Book. Now, the 60-year-old Sozzani has made headlines in the past for saying that she really doesn’t fret over her magazine’s circulation numbers or securing celebrities for the covers, suggesting she’s someone who takes an alternative approach to running a publication.
November 9, however, is the day she decided to take an alternative approach to guest starring, because this happened. Yes, Sozzani took to her private journal blog and said a few quirky things about fashion-based TV shows, like that they’re boring and unnecessary. And yes, she made specific reference to America’s Next Top Model. The best part for us isn’t just that she threw a show under the bus that she’s contracted with and appearing on, but the way she casually mentions it her post, like she caught a few episodes during a Bravo marathon or something. Is this a joke? We like jokes. But how badly we wish ANTM was being aired live tomorrow. Instead, we’re just going back in time to a day where this wasn’t said yet because now the likelihood of a panel brawl has dwindled. Sigh.
