Vampire Diaries Producers Working on Companion Show for TVD
How’s this for good news, TVD fans? The Vampire Diaries co-creators/executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec are currently working on a “new supernatural drama project” — one they’re calling a “companion show” to TVD.
The project, which is in early stages of development at Warner Bros. for CW, is untitled right now, but its being described as “The X-Files meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The gist? At its core, the show is about a group of people who research “paranormal happenings.” With a storyline like that (and its obvious similarities with two of our fave ‘90s shows!), our interest is definitely piqued.
But there’s still no script and no clear-cut deal with the network, so we probably won’t see the show make its debut during the upcoming pilot season. Boo.
Also, the producers have already revealed that the characters won’t make cameos on each other’s shows. Come on! Wouldn’t Nina Dobrev (Elena) make the perfect modern-day Skully (and look totally hot with a red bob)?
