Bones creator Hart Hanson tweeted out a link to a 2011 promo for the show. The title of the video says it all: "Something big is in the air." The video follows the old wedding poem, "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." (It leaves out the "and a penny in your shoe" part, saving us from having to ask the question, "Who gets married in penny loafers?")
So, what can we expect in 2011? Let's break down the promo and let speculations abound. "Something old" is followed by (of course) a set of bones. Sounds like they're old. Old enough, in fact, to prompt the "Something new"-related statement from Hodgins, "We are looking at what could be a clue to the origin of life itself." We're crossing our fingers that this has nothing to do with arsenic-based life forms.
The "Something borrowed" is a little bit harder to determine. It shows the lab, Brennan staring at a computer screen, and then Brennan coming up behind Booth as if to hug him from behind. (Like, "Please Booth, don't marry Hannah!" Which she doesn't say, but she's gotta be thinking it.)
A baby-blue set of bones covers the "Something blue" requirement. We love it when they get back to the bones! But then — boo, hiss — it's followed by Hannah saying to Booth, "You're gonna propose." Now remember, *Spoiler alert* Bones producers have already warned us that a proposal will happen in February. Which begs the question, is Booth seriously going to propose to Hannah? The final tag line doesn't help: "Some bones should stay buried."
