1. He's not a sell-out
Brad is not going to cry on cue (*cough*Jake*cough*), go along with fabricated drama, or pick someone just because producers or viewers want him to. He wants to find a soul mate, then return home to Austin, Texas. So if he does pick someone — and he has said he does — we have to believe it really is because he found "a true love story"
and not just 15 minutes of extra fame.
2. Jenni and DeAnna support him
Even DeAnna Pappas — who hated him more than anyone — has not only forgiven him, she wishes she had pulled a Womack on her season of The Bachelorette
. She's now engaged and living with her fiance
, Stephen Stagliano. Brad's other finalist, Jenni Croft, got married earlier this year
. They both support Brad as the new Bachelor
and hope he finds love, too.3. He's actually not that boring
Brad came off as kind of a hunky dim bulb back on Season 11, but he's actually funny in a dorky, self-deprecating way. He is aware of his reputation and pokes fun at himself. He also calls himself "painfully shy"
as one reason it was hard for him to go through the first season. He does have a personality and it may actually come out this time.
4. He has more choices and more time
Brad's Season 11 was relatively short
and of the 25 women, rumor has it he was most fond of Bettina Bell
. But when Bettina's father trashed him on the hometown dates, Brad let her go and basically gave up on the season. That's one rumor anyway. This time Brad has 30 women and 11 episodes to get to know them.5. He adjusted his attitude
Brad admits he wasn't in the right frame of mind last time. Maybe he was a commitment-phobe. He went through three years of therapy and he's "a changed man." This is his redemption. He's more open-minded and open-hearted. He asks these women pointed questions and they do the same with him. Everyone is trying to get to the truth this season, as opposed to just getting drunk and causing drama. Brad is taking this seriously and from what he said in his most recent interview
, it sounds like the women are taking it seriously too.
6. There are some cool women this season
Never mind Brad. If you don't like him, that's cool. What about the 30 women he meets
? Some of them seem really fun, and we don't just mean the vampire chick or the mortician
. A lot of these ladies are beautiful, accomplished, and genuine. They deserve love too and it will be nice to see one of them find it.7. We could have our next Bachelorette from this lot
Brad says he picks someone, which means he doesn't pick a lot of someones. One of them is likely to be the Season 7 Bachelorette, if she accepts. If you don't watch how the women are with Brad, you'll be out of touch when the new season of The Bachelorette
starts. Don't fall behind!8. Brad's hot — very hot
Brad is probably the hottest Bachelor since ... Brad Womack, back in Season 11. Brad is Captain America — tall, rugged and sexy with a gentleman's Texas twang. Even if you aren't fond of how he handled himself in 2007, it won't be too hard to look at him
(shirtless!) for 10 weeks. 9. The spoilers point to a fun, scandal-free season
That's what Reality Steve's full season of spoilers are saying
and last season he was only wrong about the ending. (Oops.) No one leaves the show for work or an ex back home. No frustrating drama that has nothing to do with finding true love. Just the standard drama that comes with 30 crazy women fighting over one man.10. There's a happy ending!
Remember how upset so many of us were last season when Bachelorette
Ali Fedotowsky suffered through Justin "Rated-R" Rego, Kasey Kahl, The Weatherman, and Frank Neuschaefer and we thought she might end up pulling her own Womack? Well, Reality Steve can't mislead us with bad finale spoilers this season because Brad himself is already spoiling the ending: He picks someone! And she doesn't dump him! He's in love and there's a "very happy ending."
Isn't that really why we watch, to see someone find love?
Watching this season of The Bachelor
will be like watching a sweet romantic comedy where we already know everything will turn out all right. No stress, just romance.
