Artist: Robyn | Song: "Dancing On My Own" | Show: Gossip Girl We're completely obsessed with Robyn's brand of crying-on-the-dancefloor anthems — so there was no better time to hear her lead single, "Dancing On My Own," than during a pivotal "hate sex" scene between Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass. After all, Robyn does heartbreak better than just about anyone.
Artist: Kim Zolciak | Song: "Tardy for the Party" | Show: Real Housewives of Atlanta Since Real Housewife Kim Zolciak was cruelly snubbed by the Grammy nominations this year, we think we owe her at least a few spins of her epoch-defining work of musical genius, "Tardy for the Party." Play this instant classic by "America's answer to Dusty Springfield" at your dance party — but only after you've had "your third glass of wine."
Artist: Jennifer Lopez | Song: "Louboutins" | Show: American Idol News that Jennifer Lopez would be joining the judges of Idol next season had us revisiting Jenny from the Block's musical oeuvre, and we like what we found! The first single from her much-delayed forthcoming studio album, Love?, was the swaggerific dance track "Louboutins" — even though it flopped on the charts, we still think it's a total banger.
Artist: Sleigh Bells | Song: "Kids" | Show: Skins Just because this glitchy uptempo number from noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells is a little bit "indie" doesn't mean you can't dance to it. "Kids," heard in the promotional trailer for Skins, is an anthemic slice of fuzzy synth-pop.
Artist: Glee Cast | Song: "Teenage Dream" | Show: Glee We've been having quite the love affair with the Warblers' dynamite cover of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," which (we think) cemented Kurt's love affair with Dalton Academy. With its soaring chorus and wistful lyrics about bygone youth, it's just the right track for a holiday that's all about new beginnings. Oh, and helloooo, Darren Criss!
Artist: The Pierces | Song: "Secret" | Show: Pretty Little Liars All Pretty Little Liars fans should recognize this super-creepy song from the show's opening theme — we think it just might be our favorite theme song since Friends! Play it and dance a slow, dramatic waltz for a change of pace from all the wild groovin'.
Artist: Sarah Vaughan | Song: "Fever (Adam Freeland Remix)" | Show: Castle Photo by David Redfern/Redferns/Getty Seminal jazz singer Sarah Vaughan has been given an electro reboot by Adam Freeland, memorably played during Castle's visit to the burlesque club in Castle Episode 3.1, "A Deadly Affair," and we think it's an ideal track to wind down the evening after your late night festivities.
