The redhead-turned-blonde (who turns brunette for her role on Castle) did an interview with MSN where she talks her lush locks, working alongside Nathan Fillion (so jeal!) and what’s up next for the former That 70’s Show star.
First things first: the hair. “I show up on the set as a blonde, but then halfway through, because I start studying Beckett, I start dressing like her and I show up with a brown wig,” Laura says. (And judging from the preview, we can guess it irks Castle much more than Beckett when the Hollywood diva starts to emulate his [secret] lover!)
Speaking of divas, Laura says playing an actress let her explore all the “cliches” of Hollywood starlets. “It's really fun because I get to play up the cliché Hollywood actress things,” she explains. But adds, “I like to think I'm not [a diva in real life]. I don't really hang out with people who are, so it's fun to be semi-diva.”
And not only did she love playing her character — she also lurrved the rest of the Castle cast. “Nathan (Fillion) is one of the funniest, most humble guys I've ever worked with and Stana (Katic) is such a sweetheart. We had so much fun,” she gushes. It’s lucky the trio got along, because Laura says the days were super long. “When you're working with people for so long, it's amazing when there's no divas, no negative energy,” she says. “It was just so cool and we just laughed all day, and we just got to know each other. They're just great people.”
So what’s next for the (still blonde) Prepon? Apparently, the Castle crew liked her so much that they’re trying to figure out a way to work her character back into the show. “The only way they can really get my character back on there is if they come to L.A.,” she says. “They have been talking about that: where a murder case takes them to Los Angeles. We'll see what happens, but if my work schedule permits it, I'd love to come back.”
Judging from her eppy’s clip, we can say the feeling is mutual. More Prepon, please!
