The Bachelor

Wetpaint Exclusive! DeAnna Pappas Dishes on Season 15 Premiere of The Bachelor

Deanna Pappas — of Bachelor and Bachelorette fame — is starting off the new year right: She gave us a call after having just gotten home from the gym with fiance Stephen Stagliano! During our chat with the gorgeous southern belle, she dished on her wedding plans, what she thinks about Brad’s return, and most importantly — tonight’s Bachelor premiere.

Wetpaint: Soo.... We’ve got a lot to catch up on about the show... about you. But first off: Any little tidbits you can give us on tonight’s ep?

DeAnna: Oh sure! Jenni [Croft] and I come back. You know that. It was for one nice to see Brad again because Brad and I have been friends since my season. I was nervous for Jenni mainly because she has not seen Brad since our “After the Final Rose.” She hasn’t seen him or spoken to him. She pretty much just let that part of her life go and wanted to have nothing to do with him. So it was nice to see Jenni again because she and I have become great friends.

At the same time, it was such an odd situation [to be there] because [my and Jenni’s] lives have come so full circle. Brad’s in the same situation where he’s still single — he’s still trying to find someone to share his life with. It’s just interesting to see that [Jenni and I are so happy] since we were the ones that Brad had dumped.

WP: Do you have more faith in Brad this time around?
DeAnna: I was VERY skeptical. I think everyone will see that on tonight’s show. For me, I think it was very hard to come to terms with the fact that he was going to be The Bachelor again because as I said, we have maintained a friendship. We’ve talked numerous times without producers around, without cameras, without people telling us what to say. We talked about this in depth. I obviously won’t say any of those things because that was one of our intimate conversations. I will say that I was shocked that he’s on The Bachelor again.

But everything happens for a reason. I only wish that he finds what I’ve found, and what Jenni’s found. Love is a beautiful thing! I think he is a great guy and that he deserves a fantastic woman!

WP: Have you already seen the premiere or will you be tuning in tonight?
DeAnna: I have seen it already but I am going to be watching it tonight, too. Bachelor has given me an excuse to have a girls’ night. Every Monday night we eat nasty food and drink red wine. A few of my closest girlfriends come over and actually two of my girlfriends from Matt Grant’s season are coming over as well.

WP: Did you have any interaction with the girls [in Brad’s current season]?
DeAnna: I actually didn’t meet the girls. I just saw Chris [Harrison], Brad, and Jenni.

WP: Any front-runners or girls that you’ve got your eyes on who you think might be a good fit for Brad?
DeAnna: I do have some favorites from having watched. There are some crazies on there, though! I’m always thankful that I never did anything crazy like, put my legs behind my head. It’s so funny when these girls come on the show and go to all these drastic measures to get noticed. There’s a girl in tonight’s episode who’s obsessed with vampires and I think when everyone sees it they’re going to be like “OH my...” Brad deals with it very charismatically, so that’s really funny, too.

There are a couple southern girls on the show. And I’m a southern girl, so my heart always goes out to them. I’m really rooting for them to make a stamp, and I really think they’d be a great fit for Brad as well. It will be interesting to see how everyone feels when they’re introduced to the girls tonight.

We’re definitely taking a cue from DeAnna — we’ll be tuning in tonight with our gal pals, red wine, and plenty of junk food!

Check back soon for more from our exclusive interview with Deanna, in which she dishes on her wedding dress (she picked one!), her blog (visit here), and her dating advice!
