We’ve all seen pictures of the newly slimmed down Jennifer Hudson. And she’s looking better than ever! But what’s her secret? The Oscar-winning American Idol alum dished recently that she’d tried for years to lose weight but didn’t find the right fit for her until Weight Watchers. Since starting her weight loss regime, she’s gone from a size 16 to a 6. Not bad! But Hudson remains more focused on what she’s gained over her journey to get healthy than what she’s lost.
Said Hudson, "Instead of saying I lost this or that, I feel like I gained 10 years of my youth back. I look 10 years younger. People say to me, 'You have Jennifer Hudson's face. Are you her little sister?'”
Hudson won’t reveal just how much weight she’s lost, because, as she says, “a lady never tells.” And she says she has always been comfortable with her body. "I never had a problem with my size at any size." But she reveals a strong factor in making the choice to finally get healthy was having her first child. "I wanted to give the example from the beginning — oh, Mommy works out, Mommy eats right."
Hudson also attributes her health to keeping a positive outlook. "When I go to work out, I have to have fun and enjoy it so I want to get up and do it again tomorrow…You have to have your mind ready and be ready. You have to want it for yourself. You can't do it for anybody else."
Sounds like J-Hud’s got this whole being a skinny, Oscar-winning pop star thing down. Is there anything she can’t do? We expect any day now to hear that she’s successfully solved global warming.
