This leaves Jake free to go back to his flying and acting roots. The former Bachelor, whose one-time stage name was Jake Landrum, appeared on last Friday's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. "I play a pilot," the commercial pilot tells People magazine. "And what's ironic about the whole thing is that it's harder to play a pilot than to be a pilot!"
He's planning on doing more real piloting as well, including some stunt work. "I'm going to get involved in air shows," Jake says. "As a civilian, you can't fly in an F-16 but you can fly in a civilian fighter trainer that still goes 600 miles per hour, so I think I'm going to be flying a jet like that in several air shows this year."
He's still dating Dallas wedding planner Meghan Jones, although it's not clear whether it's a long-distance relationship or if she's relocated to L.A. At any rate, Jake's stint with pro partner Chelsie Hightower on Dancing With the Stars Season 10 has led to a longtime love of dance.
"[Meghan and I] have taken some Latin lessons and she's getting pretty good and can beat me up on the dance floor," Jake says. "I got crazed about Latin during Dancing with the Stars. Chelsie and I, we did the samba and the cha cha, so I got bit by the Latin bug."
Jake dispels the rumor that he wants to go back for his own second chance at public humiliation. "I read that story that I was begging to be the Bachelor," says Jake, "and that was news to me."
