Paula Abdul Bio:

With a career that spans over three decades, Paula Abdul can be described as no less than a musical triple threat, conquering the industry first as a dancer, then choreographer and finally, a musical artist. Born on June 19th, 1962 in the San Fernando Valley, Paula began dance lessons at the age of eight. As fans would expect, she was senior class president and head cheerleader at Van Nuys High School, and after graduating in 1980, she enrolled at Cal State Northridge, majoring in TV and radio.

In the public spotlight, Paula first performed as an L.A. Lakers cheerleader, and then progressed to head cheerleader and team choreographer. She eventually dropped out of college to dance and choreograph full-time. Her big break came in 1984 when she was asked by The Jacksons to choreograph their 1984 "Torture" video. After that, Paula worked on a number of videos and movies, and released her first CD, Forever Your Girl in 1988, the CD that established her as a musical triple threat! Paula is best known for her role as judge on the Fox hit, American Idol.

Paula Abdul Quotes:

(On her American Idol Co-stars): Every time Randy Jackson opens his mouth, I look like a Nobel Prize winner. Every time Simon opens up his mouth, Borat sounds like a Nobel Prize winner. Ryan, I really do love him. Almost as much as he loves himself. These three brothers are the best thing to ever happen to me. Just ask my therapists.

(On her choreography_: My choreography suits men very well, and the women who can do it are damn hard, strong dancers.

(On her values): All my life I have been taught to take the high road and never to dignify salacious or false accusations and I have been taught never, never to lie. Not only do I never lie, I never respond to lies, no matter how vicious, no matter how hurtful.

(On her many reinventions): People talk about Madonna being the queen of reinvention, and while I applaud her, I don't know anyone who's reinvented themselves more than me.
