Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Buy $3 Million Bel-Air Home

Oh, the perks of having a hubby in real estate!

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and her real estate agent husband Mauricio Umansky purchased a 6,500-square-foot, $3 million dollar home last week. This week, they’re already hard at work renovating it. The home, which already boasts a “pool, sports court, theater and billiards room,” “will be a complete remodel where every space from the kitchen floors, the bathrooms and even the ceilings, will be redone.” Sounds extensive (and expensive!).

"We are going to convert it into kind of a Ralph Lauren comfortable, casual and traditional home,” Umansky told the Hollywood Reporter. "It'll have a bit of an East Coast charm." (Expensive was right.)

Umansky doesn’t just have ambitious renovation plans, he’s also hoping to complete them in a very ambitious timeframe. "I'm fast. I preorder everything. I already bought my cabinetry and my marble,” he said. And Umansky has quite a novel approach to remodeling: "I like to go in and bring back their life. I like to sit in the house for as many hours as it takes. The house tells me what it is suppose to be."

But the couple hardly does the work themselves. They’re set to bring in lots of outside help to get the job done, including Kyle’s pal Faye Resnick, who will take the reigns on interior design. Perhaps Umansky’s speedy project completion projection has something to do with the fact that he does very little of the general labor himself? Just sayin’.

Whether or not the couple will live in the home — or just brag about it — remains to be seen.

But we guess if you’re the #1 real estate agent at one of the largest real estate agencies in the City of Angels, well, you can do whatever you want!
