Best and Worst Fashion from Gossip Girl Season 4, Episode 12: “The Kids Are Not All Right”

After a long period away from our beloved Gossip Girl, we returned to drama of the Upper East Side just as things were starting to get really intense. In “The Kids Are Not All Right,” there were shakeups galore — and things weren’t exactly stable on the fashion front, either. So without further ado, let’s get back into our weekly tradition of assessing the best and worst of this week’s looks.

Hot: Raina’s New York Debut

Miss Raina Thorpe and her father may be new to the neighborhood, but the two of them were certainly turning heads with their sharp ensembles. We have a feeling that Raina might be teaching her new neighbors a thing or two about dressing up.

Hot: Serena’s Chic Winter Style

When Serena headed to the hoosegow to visit Ben, we were looking forward to seeing what happened between the pair. But more than that, we were interested in her outfit — a lovely belted green plaid trench paired with ash brown over-the-knee boots. We’re in love.

Not: Serena’s Sparkly Sleeves

Serena has made super-drapey cardigans her thing over the past few months, which we usually love. But the gaudy rhinestones and unflattering fit on this was more “Eddie Bauer,” and less Loro Piana. Sorry, S. We’ll pass on this one.

Not: Lily’s Gray Satin

This wasn’t Lily’s finest night, so we hate to add insult to injury... but when you dress like the grandmother of the bride, you’re kind of asking for it.
