The Battle Begins! Recap of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion, Part One
Tonight’s reunion of TheReal Housewives of Beverly Hills provided an answer to what we’ve all been wondering: Will Camille return for Season 2? And that answer was: “Maybe.” Uh... that’s it?!
But tonight’s first part of the reunion (with Part 2 airing on Tuesday) did offer plenty of tense confrontations. The women addressed Taylor’s bizarre comment about pulling “some Oklahoma” on Kim’s ass out back, which Taylor claims was a joke. Uh, a “joke”? Was it just us, or did no one seem to be laughing when she said that to Kim? Even Andrew Dice Clay gets more laughs than that.
Of course, Kim — not understanding the parameters of basic social convention, per usual — keeps needling Taylor about that comment, so Taylor asks if she can address Kim’s “state of mind” at the time. We’re told that will be saved for next week, but we’re guessing she means that Kim was drunk (since we’re thinking Kim probably wasn’t, say, on an acid trip or anything).
It’s downright impossible for these women to not eventually bring up the Camille-Kyle spat in NYC, so of course it got rehashed again tonight. Camille goes as far as to say that she felt like she was being set up on the show, and that America now thinks she’s delusional. At least she’s right about that last part!
The word “insecure” was used about a billion times, with host Andy Cohen asking Camille if perhaps being with Kelsey has created insecurities for her, which Camille said is possible. Might we actually be making progress here? Consider us shocked!
There was talk about Camille’s marriage. She says that Kyle was the one who asked her to do the show, and she said no, but then Kelsey encouraged her, so now Camille is skeptical of Kelsey’s motives. Of course, she also confirmed that they didn’t have a prenup, and implied that her divorce payout is north of $40 million dollars. So that softens the blow a bit!
Tellingly, the only person to cry tonight about Camille and Kelsey’s break-up was Adrienne. (Go figure.) But we did hear Camille bring up the fact that she was an English major, since apparently no one is more impressed by Camille's accomplishments than Camille is.
Lisa says she hopes to downsize her house soon, which makes sense, since most of her rooms currently seem to belong to Giggy. Also, tonight we learned that Kim shops at Costco. (Okay, so we didn’t say that all of the info was juicy!)
But next week’s reunion segment continues to be just as dramatic, as we find out what really happened with Cedric. And no, we didn’t really get an answer from Camille about next season. But now the real question we want answered is: How did Lisa go an entire hour without bringing Giggy onstage with her at least once?! Lisa’s going to need a grief counselor to cope with so much time apart!
