Condé Nast

All the most fabulous magazines around — Vogue, Vanity Fair, and, of course, W — are owned by the this international publishing company. Their employees were known to get famously lavish perks, though that kind of stuff has been scaled back somewhat as the print media goes through its death throes. For young writers, getting a foot in the door there is kind of the holy grail, so it makes sense that Dan would be willing to go to such lengths as being nice to Blair Waldorf to make it happen.

It Happened One Night

This week’s title is brought to you by It Happened One Night, the 1934 romantic comedy starring Claudette Colbert, an original It-girl, as a spoiled heiress who gradually falls for a judgmental journalist on a road trip. Hmm, this would make a great storyline for Blair as her relationship with Dan heats up...

Old Town Bar

Want to party like Ben and Serena? Follow them to New York’s Old Town Bar on East 18th Street. Not only is it a great hangout with lots o’ history - it’s over 100 years old, and a favorite of writers like Frank McCourt and Pete Hamill - but it’s also just about halfway between Ben’s DUMBO digs and Serena’s Upper East Side pad. For once, Brooklyn and the UES meet in the middle.

Schnitzel and Things

Food trucks have been all the rage in NYC for awhile now - in a town where running even a teeny storefront can get über expensive, doling out servings from a truck is a good way to provide delicious food and keep it cheap. Believe it or not, the one Dan and Eric hit up is totally real - see for yourself by following the Schnitzel and Things truck yourself at their website.
