Friend: “If Brad Womack Didn’t Propose to Laurel Kagay Then I’m the Queen of England”
Remember the he said/she said between Brad Womack and Laurel Kagay? They dated off-and-on for eight years, and she claims he proposed to her right before going on The Bachelor Season 15. Brad refuted her claims on Lopez Tonight, telling George Lopez that he "100 percent" did not propose to Laurel.
Now one of Laurel's best friends, who goes by “HBomb” online, is blogging about the situation. One of her latest entries, titled "If Brad Womack didn't propose to Laurel Kagay then I'm the Queen of England," says Laurel's Us Weekly article is "100% accurate." She saw the texts and emails from Brad, including one that Laurel shared with the magazine: "You're my future, Roo. Nothing is going to change that. Laurel, I'm serious about this. Please marry me?"
The friend told RadarOnline she's known Laurel for 20 years. "I am pretty sure Laurel never said there was an actual proposal, down on one knee, with a big ring," HBomb writes. "It was more just him professing he wanted to marry her, telling her he was going to do so, and asking her via text repeatedly. And he did sit her parents down to talk about it. [...] I am also pretty sure he took her ring shopping at Cartier, but I guess he wasn’t serious then either.”
"I don’t understand why he couldn’t just tell the truth on George Lopez?" the friend continues. "We would understand if he said he loved Laurel, asked her to marry him, but it just didn’t work out. He could've explained he was having a hard time finding someone he wanted to be with so he went back on the Bachelor. Instead he flat out lies and acts all appalled like he has no idea why someone would write that article about him. Like Laurel is just some crazy who invented it all in her head."
Laurel's friend claims Brad's erratic communication often swung wildly from "I love you" to "I hate you,” and from "I want to marry you" and "You're the love of my life" to "Please never contact me again."
Right before Bachelor casting, the friend alleges, Brad texted Laurel up to 20 times pleading with her to marry him and have kids with him. "It never stopped," the friend says, adding that "he even contacted me to try to help him, which I was fine doing."
But Brad didn't listen and "would just revert back to his old patterns" of "begging Laurel to go on a date with him then never showing up," the friend says. "She would literally be dressed and ready to go and she would get the call. It was a vicious cycle that ended when he left to go on the show... He was downright cruel, mean, and heartless about it."
Yikes! Granted, this is coming from one of Laurel’s friends, but it sounds like she was on Brad’s side once, too.
What do you think? Do you believe Brad? Laurel? Does it matter, since it puts Brad’s “changed man” motto in doubt, or is this water under the bridge? After all, Brad is happy and in love with his chosen one from The Bachelor, right?
