It would be really nice to have a straight-up, unequivocal love story on The Bachelor. In six seasons, The Bachelorette has produced two truly happy endings: Ali & Roberto and Trista & Ryan — both without any Jason Mesnick-style drama. On the flip side, Jason and Molly are the only successful couple in 14 seasons of The Bachelor, and Molly was his runner-up, not his final pick. There's no denying the Bachelors have had a tougher time of it — and the pattern continues with Season 15.
According to Reality Steve's "After the Final Rose" spoilers,Brad Womack and his Season 15 chosen one, Emily Maynard, have already broken up once. Steve writes, "Brad and Emily are engaged, but it's not without its problems. While on stage, they do talk about the fact that they've already broken up once in these last three months, but they are together now, still engaged, and working on things." Steve doesn't know the details of the breakup, but Brad and Emily do acknowledge it during the "After the Final Rose" special.
A split so soon — however temporary — doesn't bode well for things to come. Steve continues, "The vibe I’ve gotten from the show is this: Brad and Emily are putting on a happy face and doing this for show but are pretty much doomed. The ATFR almost seemed like an intervention from the shows successful couples to tell them how to make it. Almost like a pep talk from the others considering the slippy ground Brad and Emily are currently on."
As Steve notes, this on-again, off-again pattern was also characteristic of Brad's relationship with now ex-girlfriend Laurel Kagay. "Laurel's told me for months she would not be surprised if Brad and Emily broke up and got back together at some point, because that's who Brad is and what he does. She even mentioned it in the US Weekly article that he would break up with her on a Saturday, then two days later change his mind and get back together with her. And it happened ALL THE TIME."
