If you followed the casting rumors of Dancing With the Stars during the last few years, one name always kept popping up: Chris Jericho. The pro wrestler always seemed to be on the tip of producers’ tongues, and he finally wound up on the show for Season 12. What what changed his mind?
“This was the third time [I was asked to appear] actually,” Chris tells TV Guide. “I was approached for Season 10, then 11, then now for 12. The first time, you know, professionally, you say, ‘Oh, my schedule's too busy right now.’ But personally, you say, ‘Wow, I don't know if I could do that. It's a big commitment.’ The second time, I said, ‘This could be pretty cool.’ The third time, I was like, ‘I'm going to do it for sure.’ Now's the time”
But why is now the right time? “You've got to be 100 percent mentally and physically committed," says Chris. "I wanted to make sure I had nothing else going on and kept everything wide open so I could focus my whole effort on this show.”
Chris says that rehearsals are going well, but dancing is a lot harder than it looks. “It’s probably the hardest training I’ve ever done.” Really? Harder than some of those wrestling moves? Can't wait to see him during Monday night's premiere.
