Skins US Yields Major Ratings Increase for MTV’s Monday Night Timeslot

Okay, Skins US fans: The name of the game while waiting to hear about Season 2 is STAY POSITIVE! (Oh, and don’t forget to tweet up #MTVSkinsSeason2… ) Lucky for us, there is a lot to be positive about Skins US thus far.

First of all, uh hello? The show’s first season was awesome?! Of course, that goes without saying among hardcore fans like us. But it turns out that a lot of people think so. Reports are showing that MTV’s Monday night 10 p.m. timeslot — which we all know to be time for Skins US — has yielded a 56% ratings increase for MTV over the first quarter of 2010. Translation: Skins US is totally pulling its weight, ratings-wise. So this should all come to a Season 2, right? Right?

Oh, and MTV is generally showing steady growth. The network had a 27% ratings increase over the last five years. So yeah, they’re doing okay…

Come on, MTV. We’ve totally got your back! Don’t let us down!
