Gossip Girl Executive Producers Tease Game-Changing Finale

We are on pins and needles waiting for Gossip Girl’s Season 4 finale — and after reading what executive producers Josh Safran and Stephanie Savage had to say to TVLine, we’re ready for this hiatus to be over. Like, yesterday. The showrunners are teasing a crazy-big season ender!

“Last year’s finale was a little bit darker,” said Steph, “and this one is more juicy and fun.” Echoed executive producer Josh Safran, “Every finale is a game-changer, but this one really is spinning everyone off in new ways that will be apparent as you watch it.”

“The road map for all of the characters will be very clear,” he added. “[But] that’s not to say there won’t multiple cliffhangers.”

Prince Louis arrives on the UES to further complicate Blair’s (Leighton Meester) boy confusion; Chuck (Ed Westwick) “gets very, very dark”; and Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) jet-sets to SoCal, where Ethan Peck may or may not win her heart. “Every year we try to do something big, like last year when we sent the girls to Paris,” dished Josh. “So, this is just a fun change in location for Serena.”

There are three episodes before the two-part finale, which takes place over the course of one night. Gossip Girl returns next Monday, April 18, at 9 PM.
