The Horror! Love in the Wild Host Bashes The Bachelor As “Not Real”

How dare anyone call The Bachelor "very fluffy" and "not real"? It's barely fluffy and only occasionally fake. Take that, Darren McMullen!

The host of Love in the Wild — NBC's new reality show that's a twisted lovechild of The Bachelor and Survivor — is dissing our beloved ABC show as something that "paints a very fluffy, romantic picture of relationships, but it's not real. [...] Life in a relationship isn't all limos and champagne dinners. [Our show] is putting people in stressful situations and seeing if they can work together as a team. We were surprised how many genuine couples we ended up having."

The Bachelor, not stressful? What about those dates where they make the couple walk across a tightrope between skyscraper rooftops to get to their candlelight dinner?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Love in the Wild will start June 1, pairing up singletons for challenges in the Costa Rican wilderness. Their incentive to win? Luxe lodgings for the night.

Here's another not-so-subtle Bachelor diss, this time from the show's production company chairman, David Goldberg: "[Love in the Wild couples are] not typical reality contestants who just want to rip off their clothes and get their 15 minutes of fame," he said. "Anybody who is single and looking for a real relationship would want to come and do this."

We're not so sure about that. Brad Womack and company hung out in the Costa Rican jungle on The Bachelor Season 15, and all they did was run screaming from bugs in the mansion and bats in the caves.
