The Kid Stays in the Picture
The title of this week’s ep comes from The Kids Stays in the Picture, Hollywood producer Robert Evans’s 1994 autobiography, which was adapted into a 2002 film. It’s packed with sex, drugs, and insider dirt. He and Gossip Girl would probably get along famously.

Benedikt Taschen
Benedikt Taschen is a German publisher of often-eccentric coffee table books, such as a 75-pound book about Muhammad Ali. He legitimately would make a fancy-shmancy yearbook for socialites — although he is apparently too fancy for a Gossip Girl cameo.

Laurie Simmons
Not too good for GG is well-known photographer Laurie Simmons. Her stuff usually features sex dolls posed in lifelike positions, not semi-happy families. Although maybe that is good practice for photographing Serena (Blake Lively).

Kate’s hats
“All I ever wanted was a fairytale,” sighs Blair (Leighton Meester). “Kate Middleton has it. And I have much shinier hair. Although she does have a better assortment of hats.” Why does the real-life princess-to-be have so many chapeaus? It’s not just a signature look, like Blair’s headbands, nor is she trying to cover a bald spot. Hats are de rigeur at English weddings, which is why ladies turn up with Dr. Seuss-like ribbon explosions on their heads.
