Top 3 Grossest Moments From Bones Season 6, Episode 18: “The Truth in the Myth”

Unlike “The Feet on the Beach,” which is all about severed feet, “The Truth in the Myth” delves into the realm of mythical creatures. But in typical Bones fashion, the over-the-top disgusting moments are fully real. Read on for the grossest of the gross.

3. The boy who cried wolf
We’re very proud of squintern Vincent Nigel-Murray (Ryan Cartwright) for owning up to his drinking problem, or — as he likes to call it — “my unfortunate downward spiral in the aftermath of my Jeopardy win.” But just like there’s such a thing as drinking too much, there is also something known as sharing too much. (Ahem, Clark Edison.) When Vincent confesses to lying about having slept with practically every female at the Jeffersonian, we could have done without the visual — or him declaring, “I’ve been told that I’m an excellent lover.”

Three letters that stand for too much information. What is TMI, Alex?

2. We lost our appetite
We know very well which show we’re tuning into every Thursday night, but that doesn’t make the visually disgusting scenes any easier to digest. We did not need to see Cam (Tamara Taylor) sift through the victim’s slimy stomach contents, which resemble uncooked chicken.

1. Butterflies eat dead people?
Who wants to see a decaying body when they’re trying to get romantic? Talk about a mood-killer! And this isn’t just any dead body. Initially there’s a beautiful flock of butterflies covering the corpse — but they fly away to reveal a bloodless body whose insides are now outside, and whose ribs were an afternoon snack for some unknown creature. Not exactly the cover of a Valentine’s Day card.

This week’s episode, “The Finder,” promises even more nastiness. “Eyeball” a sneak peek clip below:
