Glee

Relive the Magic! Full Performances From Season 2, Episode 18: “Born This Way”

After skimping on the singing in last week’s episode, Glee gave us an assortment of tantalizing tunes — and emotional plotlines — in the much-hyped 90-minute “Born This Way.”

On the “cry me a river” front, Blaine is super sad to see Kurt leave Dalton. He makes our hearts ache with his farewell song, Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know” — but not so much so that we don’t stop to wonder how that piano got into the school courtyard.

Fueled by Rachel’s nose envy and Quinn’s seemingly innate self-love, the two frenemies are in perfect harmony for what’s almost the loveliest song of the episode: the “I Feel Pretty/Unpretty” mashup. But comeback kid Kurt outdoes them with his amazing ode to McKinley’s glee club, “As If We Never Said Goodbye.” Welcome back, Kurt!

Amidst all the feeling, there’s still fun to be had, namely at the expense of Finn’s lack of dance skills (as evidenced in “I”ve Gotta Be Me”) and the behest of those who love Rachel(‘s nose) in the flashmob-esque “Barbra Streisand.” And even though Lady Gaga’s episode-inspiring song doesn’t bring closure to everyone’s self-loathing (“Lebanese” anyone?), it at least lets Tina take lead on a song in which she doesn’t break down midway through.

Relive the magic of these “Born This Way” performances below!
