Farewell Casey Abrams: Relive His Best American Idol Moments Here!

History has shown us that the judges’ save buys a contestant more time, but none have gone on to win. We hoped that Casey Abrams might be able to reverse the trend, but alas, our Ginger Bear has been voted off for good.

The growly singer caught our attention back in the Austin auditions with his cover of Ray Charles’ “I Don’t Need No Doctor” that had all the judges dancing in their seats. Despite persistent health problems, Casey battled on and entertained us week after week. We’re going to miss his spontaneous kiss attacks and wondering which musical instrument he’ll bring out next.

If you’re finding it “Harder to Breathe” without Casey, take a look back at his Idol highlights.
