Uh oh. Sounds like some Chief Resident dramz is on deck for the remaining members of M.A.G.I.C. Or, will everyone get mixed up in the consequences of Meredith's, um, illegal, tampering with the Alzheimer's trial (a la a certain someone cutting a certain someone else's L-VAT wire back in the day) to get Chief Webber (James Pickens Jr.)'s wife treatment? It was very sneaky of her, but we can't imagine she won't get caught or be so fraught with guilt that she doesn't spill the beans to her bestie. Might this mean disaster for her shot at Chief Resident? (Seriously, though, who isn't betting on Cristina for her talent or Karev for his certain bad boy brilliance?)
Shonda assures that the Grey's writing staff didn't take the decision of who to pick for Chief Resident lightly. "We had big arguments about who should be Chief Resident," she says, "and part of it really came down to what we wanted the story to be going forward and where all our characters needed to be at the end of the season."
With all the adoption and baby drama surrounding Meredith right now, we're pretty sure her plate is a little too full to add on the Chief Resident story line, too. And Cristina seems too easy, plus she's in a conflict of interest, now, since her hubby is the one choosing. We think this might be the perfect gift to bestow upon Karev's character to finally crack his miserable shell so we can finally like him.
