This morning’s Fox 2011/2012 scheduling conference call had both good news and bad for Bones fans hoping that the show’s spin-off, The Finder, would be picked up. Yes, the procedural drama will be making its debut next season, but it didn’t score that elusive full-season pickup we were gunning for.
Instead of offering up an epic two-hour Hart Hanson block on Thursdays (or at least giving us two Hart shows a week), Fox will roll out The Finder as a midseason replacement in Bones’ Thursday 9:00 PM EST time slot while Bones goes on hiatus for Emily Deschanel’s (Brennan) maternity leave. Once Emily and the rest of the Bones crew return in the spring, we won’t see The Finder — starring Geoff Stults, Saffron Burrows, and Michael Clarke Duncan — until… well, Fox isn’t saying. Still, we suppose this is a glass-half-full kind of thing.
