Ralph Macchio Eliminated! Wax Off, Kind Sir! DWTS Season 12 Semifinals Results Show

No more Karate Kid comeback. No more sweet brother/sister chemistry. No more lamp posts, pussycats and other bizarre innuendo from judge Bruno Tonioli. (Of course, the last one is a blessing.)

After the lowest scores on the Dancing With the Stars Season 12 Semifinals Performance Show, Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff were sent home. No Freestyle. No “Crane” move, which Ralph promised if he made the Finale. At least now maybe he can rest his injured leg.

That leaves us with a final three of Hines Ward & Kym Johnson, Chelsea Kane & Mark Ballas, and Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy. On the pro front, Mark has won twice before. Kym won once and has been the runner-up twice. Maks has been third place twice and runner-up once, but he has yet to win a Mirror Ball trophy.

Ralph, you were a perfect gentleman and a great partner for Karina — and not just because you helped her up when she fell. You classed up the joint, big time. Wax on, brother!

Read on for a full recap of the DWTS Week 9 Results Show:

Encore dance: Len Goodman said they wanted to see the perfect-scoring Rumba by Chelsea Kane & Mark Ballas.

Stevie Nicks performs: Stevie sang her new single “Secret Love” as DWTS pros and troupe members Dmitry Chaplin, Anna Trebunskaya, Peta Murgatroyd, and Damian Whitewood danced. Anna is one lucky lady to have that moment on the judges’ table with our Dmitry. Love Stevie and her gloves forever, but her voice has sounded better. Later, she sang “Landslide,” accompanied by DWTS pros Tony Dovolani and Cheryl Burke. She sounded much better on this song, probably ‘cause she’s so used to singing it year after year. She’s 62? She looks great.

Pitbull performs: Pitbull, Ne-Yo, and Nayer performed “Give Me Everything” as they and their own dancers hit the floor. At least Stevie sounded like she sang live. This sounded pre-recorded. True or false?

Spotlight Segment: This week’s “Spotlight Segment” featured 13-year-old Tayla Kelley, as she performed to “Bulletproof” with DWTS pros Lacey Schwimmer and Chelsie Hightower. Tayla was born with Primary Immune Deficiency Disease and she has spent her entire childhood unable to fight infection, which has led to multiple surgeries, organ failure, and shortened life expectancy. She looked so cute and happy dancing with Lacey and Chelsie. She’s really good!

Who goes home?: It came down to Ralph & Karina vs. Kirstie & Maks.

Ralph’s parting words: Ralph said he’s taking away great memories, starting with Week 1. He’ll never forget how his fans drove them through every week. “I would run here every Monday for us to present what we worked on. And I love that and my gratitude is overwhelmed.” He thanks his family, the show, the crew and most of all, Karina. “You have inspired me in so many ways with your heart, your talent, your class, your integrity as an artist and even more so as a human being. I am proud to have been your dance partner and more proud to be your friend.” Ralph & Karina hugged.
