In a shocking turn of events, Scott Foley's CBS pilot, The Doctor, was not picked up for next season! Bad news for Scott Foley, we guess — but awesome news for Grey's fans and, more specifically, fans of Teddy and Henry’s relationship, since Scott is now free to stick around Seattle Grace. Shonda Rhimes previously said that even if Scott's new show didn't get picked up, there wouldn't be a whole lot for him to do on Grey's Anatomy if he wasn't a doctor, but she seems to be backpedaling that now that he's actually at her disposal.
In the season finale, Teddy chose Henry instead of Andrew (or at least we think that's what happened — you never know with Shonda until a plane takes off, and even then it's sketchy). When TV Line asked the series creator if she had a psychic vision telling her that Scott would be available in the fall, she quipped, "No, and let me tell you, we were holding our breath. I wish all the best for Scott, but we were holding our breath. We fully planned to go forward with [the Teddy/Henry] story in a slightly different way if he had gotten another television show, but we knew we were ending it this way no matter what."
So does that mean he's sticking around or what? All they got out of Shonda was: "I am very hopeful that we will see him again." Ugh, she's killing us. What does it all mean?
Personally, we'd love to see Henry stay, even if he and Teddy are on the rocks. Although Scott is cute as a button — and don't get us wrong, because we loved Felicity as much as the next girl — we think this is some of the best acting he’s ever done.
