In addition to all the secrets they’ve been keeping already, Emily will start a new lie so she can stay in Rosewood. Lucy told OntheRedCarpet.comthat "Emily tells a big lie to her mother about Texas and at one point we don't know if she's going to go or stay.” We’re not sure what she’ll lie about, but it must be pretty convincing if her mom even considers letting her stay.
Apparently a college athletic scout will be after Emily in Season 2, Episode 2 “The Goodbye Look.” He’s interested in recruiting her, which means she should probably stay for the remainder of the season. We think Emily might tell her mom that the scholarship offer only stands if she sticks with the Rosewood High Swim Team. It’s a pretty big incentive, so we could see it working.
But another theory is that Emily will tell a huge lie about her dating life. Her mom hopes Emily’s sexuality is just a phase, so maybe Em will say she’s met a guy she likes and has been confused about her love life. Obviously this lie would win over Pam Fields since she’s had trouble accepting Emily as a lesbian. If Pam thinks remaining in Rosewood will help Emily, then maybe she’ll let her stay, and possibly live with a friend.
We’re not advocating more lying, especially after all the trouble it’s caused for the girls, but if it means Emily won’t move, then we’re all for it!
