Yippee Alert! Glee’s Matt Rutherford Might Be Returning to the Show
If you’re like us, Matt on Glee was like free meals on airplanes — we sorta took him for granted until it was too late. But good news could be on the horizon! Actor Dijon Talton — who played the mostly mute but light-on-his-feet football player in Season 1 — says he might be returning in Season 3. Gleeks rejoice!
Details about the return are spotty, and Dijon isn’t even certain if it would definitely happen. But he took to Twitter to offer his followers a glimmer of hope:” I just heard/read the rumors that I may be returning to GLEE in Season 3, I haven't personally heard anything officially yet... So we will see guys if its true together.. That would def be dope & a lot of fun! I LOVE you all & your enthusiasm!!!”
It sounds as though he’s missing the show almost as much as we’re missing him on it! And maybe we can finally be getting a song from the guy? Because — like Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton before him — he was an entertaining silent actor, but it’s the sound era now, so we’d love him to have a few more lines this time around.
Come to think of it, just what exactly has Dijon been up to since getting axed from the show after its first season? Well, his schedule hasn’t been packed, but he’s in an upcoming indie film called I Will Follow, hitting theaters later this summer. When he’s not working, his hobbies include writing music, watching baseball, and cooking. (A cute guy who can sing and cook? Where do we sign?)
And did you know that his cousin is actress Meagan Good (Jumping the Broom)? Well, now you do! You’re welcome.
