Ashley responded, “I don’t think I would be a good entertainer, I’ll tell you that. No, I’m actually looking to go straight into dentistry. I will be getting my degree very shortly and I don’t have any plans for doing anything in entertainment.”
Well, notsofast, says “a close friend of Ashley,” who told Hollywood Life that Ashley didn’t think she’d go too far on The Bachelor Season 15 and she just wanted to use it as a springboard to go on DWTS.
“Going on Dancing With the Stars was one of her main reasons going on The Bachelor,” a source told Hollywood Life. Ashley is a trained dancer who has already shown off her skills several times just four weeks into The Bachelorette. “She had tried out for So You Think You Can Dance in 2009,” the friend added. (Can anyone get footage from her audition? Anyone? Bueller?)
Plus, the friend said, Ashley never expected Brad Womack would keep her until the final three on The Bachelor Season 15. “I just didn’t think I’d make it far,” Ashley wrote in a text message to her friend on December 5, 2010, shortly after she finished filming The Bachelor. “Didn’t think I was that irresistible Hahaha jk.”
The source said Ashley did want to find love, but it was just one reason for going on The Bachelor. “I think both reasons [love and fame] were factors,” the friend told HL. “But like she said, she didn’t expect to stay as long, so she was at least going to give it a shot for DWTS.”
Dang! So much for trashing Ashley’s bachelors for promoting themselves and going on the show for “the wrong reasons”!
DWTS tapes in Los Angeles and the celebs and their pro dance partners train for several weeks before the season even starts — which, in this case, is September 19. So that would mean relocating to L.A. for at least a month, and maybe longer if she does well. Would Ashley’s new Bachelorette fiance, if she does indeed end up with one, be okay with that? The intense DWTS schedule didn’t exactly do wonders for Jake Pavelka’s relationship with Vienna Girardi!
