But Emily’s got some other ideas. The mom-to-be told Fox All Access that she thinks viewers tune in for reasons other than the two lead characters. Really?
“I think that we’re a unique show,” she says. ”I think that of all the different procedural type shows we kind of don’t fit into that category as much, even though we deal with crimes and we deal with science and all that. And we kind of jump between genres all the time — even within an episode or a scene — so it’s almost surprising, and I think probably that appeals to people.”
That’s true. At times Bones can jump from being serious and gruesome (Exhibit A) to being heartbreakingly tragic (R.I.P. Vincent Nigel-Murray) to being just plain silly (butt joke, anyone?). But as much as we love all of the above, we can’t help that the thought of seeing Booth and Brennan finally living as a couple next season, not to mention with a baby on the way, is what’s getting us through until the show returns in the fall.
