You Tell Us! Were Ames’ Lack of Fighting Skills a Turnoff?
It took four episodes before we discovered (and fell for) Bachelorette Season 7 contestant Ames Brown’s sweet and witty personality, but as Ashley Spivey said it in her vlog on the official Bachelor site just one episode later: "Bless poor Ames's heart. Oh Lord. I think I could probably take him in a fight."
Ashley Hebert's BFF from The Bachelor Season 15 wasn't too impressed with the Ivy Leaguer’s inability to even put his hands up to protect himself during that Muay Thai boxing match in Episode 5 — and we’re pretty sure she wasn’t the only one in the viewing audience to think so.
Bachelor Pad winner Natalie Getz, however, spoke on this week’s Bachelorette Beatdown in defense of Ames, saying how she liked how he wasn’t afraid (see: too macho) to seek medical attention when he knew something was wrong. Of course, there were those who called him names rhyming with "wussy” for managing to get a concussion even while wearing padding on his arms and head — but does that take away from his all-around appeal?
You tell us: Did Boy Genius Ames fall out of favor for not being as scrappy as the rest? Or are you more into lovers than fighters?
