Exclusive! Singer From Epic Aria-Ezra Kiss Spills Behind-the-Scenes Scoop
Even as we were watching it, we knew that the dramatic kiss between Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) in Season 2, Episode 2, “The Goodbye Look,” was destined to be an instant classic — and the scene’s swoon-worthy impact was due in no small part to the work of singer-songwriter Adam Agin, whose single, “Please Don’t Leave Quite Yet,” provided the soundtrack to the moment. The song is a gorgeously epic ballad, featuring Adam’s husky vocals backed by piano and guitar, and it perfectly complimented the sun-drenched kiss between our favorite controversial couple. Instantly, traffic to the song on YouTube skyrocketed.
Wetpaintchatted exclusively with Adam, who explained, “It’s been incredible to see people’s reactions. I’ve had these songs in my back pocket forever but now people know who I am — it’s such a blessing.” Adam's primary gig is as the lead singer for the band Neulore, so the Nashville-based singer-songwriter said that his work as a solo artist is mostly in support of the band: “It’s pretty similar. It’s still my voice and writing style, but it’s a concept record about Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It’s still folky, soulful stuff.”
Even though he wasn’t familiar with the show, Adam says he was thrilled to see how the song was put to use. “I had never watched an episode before, but I caught on by the blogs and the tweets what was happening, and I was really impressed with how they used my song. It seemed to fit the scene so well — the fact that she was running in slow motion alongside the lyrics.”
